Perth art-rock band Baba!Yaga! are releasing their debut, self titled LP, via Stock Records (AU) and Luminol Records (EU).

Baba!Yaga! have established themselves as one of the most interesting heavy bands in Western Australia, combining post-punk ferocity with classical melodies. This is expressed in the dynamic debut LP, from subtle middle-eastern inspired violin and piano motifs to explosive heavy guitars, all propelled by seasoned drummer Cameron Potts (Baseball, Ninetynine).

Violinist Madeleine Antoine (Perth Symphony, Selfless Orchestra) and pianist Cara Teusner-Gartland (Selfless Orchestra) weave evocative and stirring melodies through the punctuating riffs of guitarist Nick Pratt (Deaf Wish) and driving bass lines of Raymond Grenfell (Last Quokka, Selfless Orchestra) — the result is a truly unique and uncompromising sound.

Lyrically, with all five members singing, the songs range from: tales of haughty Persian kings and their horses (Xerxes 1: Tigris 0); the dispossession and subjugation of people under late capitalism (Horse Pyramids, Tent City); sardonic critiques of the self-development crowd (Gods Inside); and reflections on the horrors of war (Mukaradeeb Wedding Party).

The Baba!Yaga! LP is available on limited edition gold vinyl via Stock Records and Luminol Records as well as all streaming platforms on Friday, April 14th.
